1. Remove plastic cover from cylinder neck.
  2. Make sure there is a washer on the largest pin of the regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD).
  3. Attach regulator or an oxygen conserving device (OCD) by sliding it onto the cylinder neck until 3 pins line up with 3 holes on cylinder (see figure 1).
  4. Hand, tighten screw on regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD). (see figure 2)
  5. Open cylinder by turning valve counterclockwise until pressure gauge on regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD) indicates how full tank is. (see figure 3)
  6. Connect tubing and/or nasal cannula securely to nipple on regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD).
  7. Set the flow setting to your prescribed setting by turning the knob on the regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD). (see figure 4)
  8. While in use, periodically check the contents gauge. To make sure you have enough to get to your destination and back.
  9. Close cylinder valve before removing regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD). Bleed off the remaining oxygen before removing regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD). This can sometimes create a load hissing noise.
  10. Turn on flow knob again after cylinder valve is closed to release remaining oxygen. Turn flow knob off before removing regulator or the oxygen conserving device (OCD).
